Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys

Read this for a goodreads bookclub read with friends. I had never heard of this book before. The story takes place in the 1950's in New Orleans. The main character Josie is 17 years old and her mom is a prostitute. Even though her mom lived that sort of life the book in my surprise was very mild and clean in nature. Josie lived in a bookstore and worked there as well. I really enjoyed the story and highly recommend it to teens of any age.
