Review - Did I Mention I love you? by Estelle Maskame
Did I Mention I Love You? by Estelle Maskame
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This book gave me so many emotions! I was angry at the parents, annoyed at times, happy, and sad but did not cry. It's about a girl named Eden age 16 who went to her dad and stepmom's house for the summer. The stepmom has 3 boys from a previous marriage. Tyler one of the son's has serious issues. I was disappointed in the ending.
Warning: This book is for mature audiences, it deals with major topics drugs, alcohol, child abuse, and sexual content.

I actually read 8 books that I already owned. Here is my folder.
1. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon (3 stars)
2. Gift from the Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh (3 stars)
3. November 9 by Colleen Hoover (4.5 stars)
4. Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella (3 1/2 stars)
5. Girl, Interrupted by Susanna Kaysen (3 stars)
6. The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls (4 1/2 stars)
7. Burial Rites by Hannah Kent (4 stars)
8. The Woods by Harlan Coben (4 stars)
January 2016 Wrap up - Finishing Up a Series
I read 4 books for this challenge.
1. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon (3 stars) book 1
This book took me over a year to read. I finally got the audio and forced myself to finish it. It is a great tv show but the writing style is just too hard to read.
2. Confessions of a Shopaholic (3 stars) book 1
Listened to this on audio and also watched the movie. It was good except since it takes place in London I found it hard to figure out the money exchange. It was quite funny though. I enjoyed the movie more than the book. I have the whole series so hope to read more of this one soon.
3. After You by Jojo Moyes (4 stars) book 2
Listened to this on audio. Didn't enjoy the narrator because of her accent was hard to decipher but I did enjoy the book. I did cry almost at the end. But was disappointed with the ending.
4. The Misadventures of Salem Hyde Spelling Trouble by Frank Cammuso (Graphic Novel book 1) 4 stars middle grade
This is such a cute story about a little girl who is a witch and she can't use her spells correctly. So cute for middle grade age.
January 2016 Wrap Up #ContRom2016

I read 3 books for this challenge. My bookshelf and reviews for this challenge are here.
1. November 9 by Colleen Hoover (4 1/2 stars)
2. Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella (3 stars)
3. After You by Jojo Moyes (4 stars)
My goal was to read 1 to 5 books for the year so I think I'm doing very well.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Listened to this on audio. First want to say that I did not enjoy the person narrating the book. She had an accent and at times I had to rewind to figure out what she was saying. But over all I enjoyed the story. At one point I had to pull my car over and listen as I was crying my eyes out. The end I had to listen to twice because I just couldn't believe it's how it ended.

Review: Glass Castle
The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
4.5 Stars
I don't normally read memoirs but this book was picked by friends and family to read for 2016. It's a true story about the author. It was heartbreaking to read. Her parents treated her so badly but she still managed to have a successful life. Some of the stories were so outrageous I found myself saying really that happened. Now, I want to read her other book about her grandmother.

#ReadMyOwnDamnBooks
Here's a great challenge to get the books you own read.
Okay, here's an embarrassing look at my unread books. And this is not all of them as I have 2 shelves downstairs that have more. Luckily these have been bought from library sales and bookoutlet so it's not the cost that is bothering me. It's the lack of time.
Yup there has got to be over 200 books just in my crates alone. These are sorted by alphabet by author to help me find them. Which still I have problems finding books because I have a ton on my kindle as well. Yup I collect cheap books on my kindle too. Yes, I have a problem.
#ReadMyOwnDamnBooks. I'll be using this hashtag to talk about this personal challenge throughout the year. The rules are pretty nonexistent....
- Read my own books
- Try to knock off 100 in 2016 by either reading them or ditching the ones that are DNF
- I can't buyyyy myself any new releases until I've read a significant amount of my own. Like maybe I can treat myself for every 5-10 of my own books I read. I'll be fairly flexible with this and see where my guilt leads me.
- I can purchase next book in a series if I don't own it but need to read it that month
- If I'm itching for newness...use the library.
If you'd like to join me in this attempt. You can sign up here.
Happy reading.

Review: Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella
Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
3 1/2 stars. I listened to this on audio and followed along with the physical book. It's a funny story about a woman who lives in London and has a spending problem. It was a funny read and I saw myself in some of her situations. The money part was a bit annoying since it's not the same as mine and the narrator's voice started to annoy me. I will continue on with the story though.

Review: November 9 by Colleen Hoover #ContRom2016
November 9 by Colleen Hoover
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
4 1/2 stars. I read this book very fast which is out of the ordinary for me since I have a very bad attention span but I wanted to read on. I love Colleen Hoover's writing style. I love that in every book I have read from her there is a plot twist I don't see coming. I may not agree with the plot twist but her books are unique and they keep me reading so it deserves a high rating. Not many authors can manage to do that. Dropped it down a star because some of the things in this book is not acceptable in real life. And this book did make me cry yup about 140 pages in I was in tears and had to put the book down. Colleen Hoover is one of my favorite authors and a must buy author.
